School's In And So Are Silly Bans
In most places, school has started again, which means the school bans on Silly Bandz are starting up again. Of course, most newspapers kept reporting on Silly Bandz school bans throughout the entire Summer, which I never understood. Now, that schools really are back in session, various local newspapers and local TV stations are going crazy being the first to report on new school bans in their areas.
The same reasons as always are being given: Silly Bandz are distracting students from learning, Silly Bandz are a health risk if students wear to many and cut off their circulation, and students are shooting Silly Bandz at each other. There are actually just as many schools that use Silly Bandz as rewards or fundraisers, and that have organized Silly Bandz trading days, but that doesn’t make such a good story for newspapers and TV.
In an interview on Bloomberg Street Smart, Silly Bandz CEO Robert Croak talked about how some schools were looking at how they could use Silly Bandz as a learning tool. If you think about it, many Silly Bandz shapes are educational and help kids to learn. Also, Silly Bandz make a great reward for a student for a job well done.

silly bandz bans are stupid. my school is a middle school so they really dont care. i mean people at my school are mature enough, really, to not like flick them and stuff. people usually just keep them on their wrist during class (including me)

I know two stores here in Murfreesboro who have used rubber bands as fund raisers. Sunday schools are using faithbands for rewards as well as parents! Focus on the positive!

Im in Middle School, and kids have shooting hornets with them. My principal got on the intercom about them the other day, and said to not play with them or shoot them. They haven't banned them though (yet).
