Dekalb County’s Times Journal has a new article called “Silly Bandz become serious business. The article interviews store owners and kids about the rising popularity of Silly Bandz. The owner of the Wishing Well is quoted as saying that her store sells a ton of them.

A student points out that kids aren’t just using them as bracelets. Silly Bandz can also be used as anklets, rings, hair bands, or to make rubber band balls. One other popular use of Silly Bandz that is pointed out in the article is doing rubber band tricks. A student says they know how to do a spider web, a spider, and a dead spider.
